NRC: SC severely reprimands Assam coordinator, registrar for speaking to media

The Supreme Court (SC) on Tuesday severely reprimanded National Register of Citizens (NRC) Assam's state coordinator Prateek Hajela and registrar Shailesh for speaking to the media about the process that will be adopted for finalisation of the NRC draft. The apex court said it would have initiated contempt proceedings against the 2 had the task of initiating steps for finalisation of NRC not been at hand.
