UN officials welome to visit Xinjiang via proper procedures: China

A group of 15 Western ambassadors in Beijing, spearheaded by Canada, have sought a meeting with the top official in the region for an explanation of alleged rights abuses against Uighurs. China said on Monday it would welcome UN officials to its far western region of Xinjiang if they follow the proper procedures.
