E-cigarettes can cause poisoning: Study

Experts say nicotine - a chief constituent of ENDS - is addictive and may lead to cardiovascular diseases, lung diseases, adverse effects on the immune and gastrointestinal systems, risk of miscarriage in pregnant women etc. In August, the health ministry had issued an advisory to states asking them to ban sale, manufacturing, distribution, import and advertisement of ENDS. 12 states in India have banned the sale of e-cigarettes.
