Ahead of deadline, Iran says could raise uranium limit to 5%

Iran will announce on Sunday that it will raise its uranium enrichment level to 5%, ahead of deadline it set for world powers to save a landmark 2015 nuclear deal. The concentration under the deal was earlier pegged at above 3.67%. Iran is acting on its May 8 threat to suspend from Sunday parts of the agreement in response to Trump’s reimposition of crippling sanctions after withdrawing from the deal in May last year.
