Strong showing for opposition in Moscow city election

Candidates supported by Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny won almost half the vote in the Moscow city council election, authorities said on Monday. With 99 percent of the votes counted, 20 candidates supported by Navalny got seats in the 45-member legislature.
