US restricts visas to China officials over Uighur 'repression'

In the most forceful attempt by a foreign power to address the Uighur issue in China's Xinjiang district, the United States said on Tuesday it would curb visas for Chinese officials until Beijing ends its "repression" of Uighurs and other Muslims. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said that China has detained over a million Muslims to erase the religion.
