A day after the United States surpassed the mark of 700,000 deaths from the Covid-19 late Friday, President Joe Biden on Saturday mourned “the painful milestone”. Asserting that the nation has made “extraordinary progress” in the fight against the coronavirus in the past eight months because of vaccines, the president, in a statement, said the astonishing death toll is yet another reminder of “just how important it is to get vaccinated”.
