A day after the United States surpassed the mark of 700,000 deaths from the Covid-19 late Friday, President Joe Biden on Saturday mourned “the painful milestone”. ​Asserting that the nation has made “extraordinary progress” in the fight against the coronavirus in the past eight months because of vaccines, the president, in a statement, said the astonishing death toll is yet another reminder of “just how important it is to get vaccinated”.
