Fly economy: Pakistan’s belt-tightening begins in high places

Pakistan is trying to reduce its budget deficit and debt levels in order to avoid a debt default. The government has announced a series of austerity measures, including a ban on luxury items and flights in business class. The measures will cost the government $764 million. The government is also raising taxes and energy prices.
