Republicans oust Ilhan Omar from high-profile US House committee

Ilhan Omar was removed from a high-profile committee in the US House of Representatives on Thursday after she made remarks widely condemned as antisemitic. The vote was 218-211 along party lines, with one Republican voting "present." Omar is the only African-born member of Congress and one of the only Muslim women in the House.
