Scientists at the New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology are converting dead taxidermy birds into drones for research purposes. Led by Dr Mostafa Hassanalian, researchers are repurposing the preserved birds to improve our understanding of the flying mechanics of flocks, which could have applications in the aviation industry.
