Anwaarul Haq Kakar sworn in as Pakistan’s eighth caretaker PM

Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar has been appointed as the eighth caretaker prime minister of Pakistan, as President Arif Alvi administered the oath. As interim PM, his primary task is to create a cabinet to handle the routine affairs of the money-strapped country. The role of the PM has taken on further importance since former PM Shehbaz Sharif approved the results of the digital census, making delaying general elections almost inevitable.
