Pakistan SC strikes down new law on judgments review, dampens Nawaz Sharif’s hopes of political comeback

Pakistan’s Supreme Court on Friday struck down a recently introduced law amending the review process of judgments, dampening ex-prime minister Nawaz Sharif’s hopes of reviving his political career, as the legislation enacted in May had provided him an opportunity to challenge his lifetime disqualification from holding public office in the Panama papers scam case.
