Russia launches lunar lander in race to find water on moon

Russia has launched its first moon-landing spacecraft in 47 years, named Luna-25, with the aim of being the first nation to soft-land on the lunar south pole, an area said to hold coveted pockets of water ice. The former Soviet nation is competing against India, China, and the US, which have developed lunar exploration programs for the same purpose.
