State Department renews ban on use of US passports for travel to North Korea

The Biden administration has extended the ban on using US passports for travel to North Korea for another year, citing the serious risk to US citizens and nationals of arrest and long-term detention. The ban, which was first imposed in 2017 after the death of American student Otto Warmbier, prohibits the use of US passports for travel to, from, or through North Korea.
