6 climate activists, aged between 11 and 24, to fight 32 Europe governments in rights court

Six young adults and children from Portugal are taking their case to the European Court of Human Rights, accusing 32 European governments of violating their human rights due to their failure to address climate change adequately. This is the first climate change case filed with the court and could result in significant emission reductions and cleaner infrastructure. A victory for the young activists would demonstrate the power of legal action in pushing governments to prioritize climate measures. In a similar case in the US, a judge ruled that state agencies were violating young activists' constitutional right to a clean environment.
