First asteroid sample of Nasa is on track for parachute landing in Utah

NASA's OSIRIS-REx spacecraft, carrying a sample of material from an asteroid, is set to make a parachute landing in the Utah desert on Sunday. The mission, a collaboration between NASA and the University of Arizona, aims to bring back the largest asteroid sample ever returned to Earth. The sample was collected from the carbon-rich asteroid Bennu, which has a small chance of striking Earth in the late 22nd century. The spacecraft spent nearly two years orbiting the asteroid before successfully collecting the sample in October 2020.
