Nasa's first asteroid sample parachutes into Utah desert

NASA's OSIRIS-REx spacecraft successfully returned to Earth with the largest soil sample ever collected from an asteroid. The capsule, carrying the celestial specimen, parachuted into the Utah desert after a six-year joint mission between NASA and the University of Arizona. The sample was collected from the asteroid Bennu, which is considered a "near-Earth object" and holds valuable insights into the origins of our solar system. The recovery team aims to keep the sample free from terrestrial contamination before distributing it to scientists worldwide.
