Amid slump in economy, Pakistanis migrating abroad for better opportunities

Amid an economic downturn and hyperinflation, many Pakistanis, particularly the younger generation, are seeking opportunities abroad for employment and scholarships. Over 450,000 Pakistanis are reported to have emigrated in the first three months of 2023. Passport offices and immigration centers are witnessing long queues as people rush to obtain passports and visas. The British Council is also experiencing a surge in work and student visa applications. Some believe that this mass exodus can lead to increased international remittances benefiting Pakistan.
