Archaeologists from the University of Vienna have made a significant discovery in Queen Meret-Neith's tomb in Abydos, Egypt. The excavation revealed hundreds of well-preserved wine jars, some still sealed, along with other grave goods. Inscriptions on the jars suggest that Queen Meret-Neith held prominent roles in government offices. This finding supports the hypothesis that she was not only a queen but also the first female pharaoh of ancient Egypt.
