Nawaz Sharif approaches Islamabad high court for protective bail ahead of return

Former Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif's legal team has filed separate petitions seeking protective bail for him in graft cases ahead of his return to Pakistan on October 21. The petitions were filed in the Islamabad High Court and an accountability court in relation to the Avenfield, Al-Azizia, and Toshakhana vehicle cases. Sharif, who was convicted in the graft cases, was declared a proclaimed offender while he stayed in the UK for nearly four years.
