First evacuees exit Gaza as refugee camp struck again

At least 320 foreign passport holders and injured Gazans were evacuated from the Palestinian enclave through the Rafah crossing into Egypt on Wednesday, under a deal mediated by Qatar. Initially, 500 foreign passport holders were expected to be allowed out of Gaza in the coming days. Talks are ongoing for further evacuations, with the US aiming to evacuate 400 Americans. The limited evacuations come after more than three weeks of a total blockade of Gaza by Israel, following an attack by Hamas fighters. Hospitals in Gaza are also facing a critical shortage of fuel.
