More than 300 Americans got out of Gaza, more remain, White House says

More than 300 Americans and their families have been evacuated from Gaza, but negotiations are ongoing for the release of hostages taken by Hamas. The exact number of remaining US citizens in Gaza is unknown. Efforts are being made to resume evacuations of injured Gazans and foreign passport holders through the Rafah crossing. President Joe Biden has called for a pause in hostilities to allow hostages to be released, and the White House supports a humanitarian pause for aid deliveries to Gaza. Over 9,770 Palestinians have been killed in the conflict.
