'Criminals avoiding deportation from UK, claim Christian conversion'

Murderers, rapists, paedophiles, and drug traffickers are among the foreign offenders in the UK who have avoided deportation after serving prison sentences by claiming to have converted to Christianity, according to the UK's Times newspaper. Foreign nationals have argued in refugee hearings that if deported, they may face persecution in their native countries as a result of their purported "conversion".
