Donald Trump beats Nikki Haley in South Carolina GOP primary

Former US president Donald Trump emerged as the winner of the South Carolina Republican presidential primary, defeating his last GOP rival, Nikki Haley, the former governor of the state. The Associated Press declared Trump's victory as soon as the polls closed. Despite Trump's recent success in the primary, Nikki Haley, the former UN ambassador and governor of South Carolina from 2011 to 2017, remains committed to continuing her campaign until Super Tuesday on March 5th.
