US hopes Haiti transitional council ready 'as soon as' Monday

The US is hopeful for the formation of Haiti's Transitional Presidential Council to address violence and facilitate elections, with international support for stabilization. The deal reached after Haiti's Prime Minister Ariel Henry decided to step down. He has been in power since the President was assassinated in 2021. The council will be in charge of naming an interim government before elections.
