Baltimore tech entrepreneur Pava LaPere's murderer sentenced to three life terms

Jason Billingsley, who pleaded guilty to the first-degree murder of tech entrepreneur Pava LaPere in September 2023, received three life sentences. Two will be served concurrently. Billingsley also pleaded guilty to attempted murder in a prior incident. Critics have questioned his early release from prison for a 2013 rape, prompting legislative changes in Maryland.
