If either of the parents is a green card holder, the child automatically becomes a US citizen. Fake claims are doing the rounds that Barron Trump is not a US citizen because Melania was not a US citizen when Barron was born. Melania was not an illegal immigrant and Donald Trump was a legal resident when Barron was born.
