Vietnam to force YouTube and other platforms to allow skipping ads after 5 seconds starting February 15

Vietnam is introducing a new law requiring digital platforms like YouTube to allow users to skip ads within five seconds. This change, effective February 15, 2026, aims to create a better online experience. Previously unskippable ads will now be shorter or immediately dismissible. Platforms must also ensure clear ad controls and report illegal content promptly.
